Hit Hard

More than twenty years ago, God called the Richardsons to minister in Mexico, and we continue to see His hand at work. What often “makes the headlines”  are the conferences where Mike speaks, the preaching engagements in larger cities and churches, and sometimes the exciting stories of God’s divine protection and providence in proclaiming the Gospel in areas where drug cartels rule. But when Mike “comes home,” it’s to a wonderful little flock of God’s precious sheep nestled in the mountains in a place called Baratillo.
Recently, La Iglesia de Baratillo has been afflicted with several serious illnesses. As you know from a recent email, Mike was down with a flu-like virus for several weeks. We are praising the Lord that his headaches significantly lessened while he was preaching in Chiapas. But the families of Baratillo have been hit hard.
  • One person had a ruptured appendix and now has a torn colon
  • One person has just been diagnosed with lung cancer
  • Another brother was hospitalized with a urinary tract infection
  • Chicken pox is currently sweeping through some of the families
  • Yet two others have been diagnosed with tuberculosis
  • Now, many others in the church are being tested for tuberculosis
The church and family members are helping out as much as possible, but the need for help, medical expenses, travel expenses, testing and treatment are great. For this reason, VNMinistries has set up a special giving link to assist in this area.
If the Lord is prompting you to help us help these families with their medical and related expenses, please click here. You of course can give to our “where most needed” category as well, but if you tag the purpose as “medical needs,” we’ll make sure we get your gift to those who need help.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support of VNMinistries. Of course, the greatest way to help us is to pray for us, our family, our friends, and our work. As you pray, if God leads you to give, please do so. If God leads you to contact us about coming to help with this work, please respond. His work is done through His Holy Spirit working through His people. You may be the answer to your own prayers.
May the Lord richly bless and keep you!
